You’re not the only that’s going to have to pull back during the credit crunch:
JAY-Z is finding the credit crunch is hampering his London party plans. The hip-hop superstar has found no club willing to stump up his appearance fee.
Representatives for the star, in town to watch his NBA team, the New Jersey Nets, take on Miami Heat at The O2 on Sunday night, initially asked for £25,000 for him to host a party. Even though that figure has now gone down to £7,500, no clubs are interested. A club source told theBuzz: “No club is willing to stump up the cash.
At this rate he might even have to party for free.”

On Wednesday Jay-Z received an award at the at the UN Global Leadership Awards event for bringing clean water to the children in Africa. When asked if working with kids made him long for his own he replied:
“Most people I guess dream of having a family some day, so I’m just a regular American boy.”
A very typical non-answer answer. Why can’t you just say “Yes,” man? Despite what’s going on in his above the neck region, the man sure fills out a suit.

Mr. Camel, once again, has some sh*t to be smiling about:
Jay-Z has reportedly launched a new label, adding to his long list of businesses. This one is called StarRoc and was formed with producers Stargate. According to overseas media, Stargate is a Norwegian duo consisting of Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen, both of which have produced for several superstar artists, specifically crafting Beyonce’s hit “Irreplaceable” and Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.” Reports indicate that the producer duo have relocated their studio to Jay-Z’s Manhattan-based Roc The Mic studios.
Jigga Man is apparently done with the fun and games. Its not as if he doesn’t have enough money already, but we love to see people make smart decisions with their dough, and put even more of a gap between them and regular folk. Gitcha paper, boo boo.

According to a report by Livesteez, 50 cent sheds some light on Jay-Z’s success:
“I’m a big fan of Jay-Z, but outside of the States and hip-hop circles, no one really knew who he was until he married Beyonce’. The G-Unit rapper has also disputed reports that Jay-Z is worth an estimated $1 billion, but is adamant he’s not jealous of his fortune. He adds, “I don’t believe he’s worth that much! It’s all been exaggerated. I’m comfortable. I don’t want for anything so I’m not in a race.”.
50, we will at least entertain your arguments with regard to the $1 Billion, because that is a hell of a lot of cheddar, we ain’t gonna lie. But to say that Beyonce’ made the Jigga Man is almost grounds for mandatory “wanksta” status, and we might also have to look into limiting your “recreational drug use.” SMDH.

Bugsy and Camel top Forbes list of “Hip-Hop’s Cash Kings”:
It’s been some year for Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. In the past 12 months, the Brooklyn, N.Y.-born hip-hop demigod released a platinum album, signed a 10-year, $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation and tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Beyoncé Knowles. Quite a record. But only good enough for a silver medal. While Jay-Z topped Forbes.com’s inaugural Hip-Hop Cash Kings list of the top-earning people in the business last year, in 2008 he cedes the throne to Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who raked in $150 million over the past 12 months–almost twice what Jay-Z made. Nothing exciting here, just everyone’s favorite married couple Beyonce and Jay-Z trying to make clear getaway after having dinner at the Waverly Inn in NYC. We wonder when they’re going to start hearing the pitter-patter of little camel toes.
According to the “National Enquirer” Bey is feelin the heat to pop one:
It’s boom time for babies in Hollywood - but newlywed Beyonce’s not about to join the club anytime soon! And that’s a problem for both her husband Jay-Z AND her mom, say sources. They’ve joined forces to persuade the sexy singer to slow down and have a baby. “Beyonce’s getting double-teamed to give in and get pregnant,” a longtime family family friend told The Enquirer. “Both her husband and her mother want to see her have a child.” But super-busy Beyonce has her career calendar blocked out solid for the next two years, and says there’s just no time for kids yet. “Jay-Z is ready to have children,” said another source. “He and Beyonce dated for years, now they’re married, and for him it’s time for children.”

Camel is laughing his way straight to the bank:
JAY-Z is about to get richer. Las Vegas spies said the hip-hop mogul’s in talks with the Las Vegas Sands Corp. - owners of the Venetian and the Palazzo - to sell them a 50 percent stake in his sports club, 40/40, for $44 million. An insider added, “That will make the 40/40 club in Vegas the largest sports booking operation. People can gamble both at the tables and on games. The Sands will also have the right to open 40/40 clubs in London and across Europe.”

It’s easy for Jay-Z to transform from the jeans and Nikes to rockin the business suit. Here he is with the the mayor of NYC Michael Bloomberg, and why he never addresses his marriage with Bey:
“I just think it’s really a part of your life that you gotta keep to yourself. You have to have something sacred to you and the people around you. I shared so much of my life… I should have something to hold on to.”
