BET has decided to scrap Rap City: Tha Basement, which has been pretty wack for a while now thanks to lame hosts, barely luke warm guests, and poor executive handling. For the full story on the demise of the longest running hip-hop show, click away.
Update: BET is replacing Rap City with a new show called “The Deal” hosted by DJ Diamond Cuts premiering on November 10.

According to a report by Livesteez, 50 cent sheds some light on Jay-Z’s success:
“I’m a big fan of Jay-Z, but outside of the States and hip-hop circles, no one really knew who he was until he married Beyonce’. The G-Unit rapper has also disputed reports that Jay-Z is worth an estimated $1 billion, but is adamant he’s not jealous of his fortune. He adds, “I don’t believe he’s worth that much! It’s all been exaggerated. I’m comfortable. I don’t want for anything so I’m not in a race.”.
50, we will at least entertain your arguments with regard to the $1 Billion, because that is a hell of a lot of cheddar, we ain’t gonna lie. But to say that Beyonce’ made the Jigga Man is almost grounds for mandatory “wanksta” status, and we might also have to look into limiting your “recreational drug use.” SMDH.

Just when you thought that fake beef between Kanye West and 50 Cent was over:
just woke up from a quick studio nap… I’ve been workin’ on 808s and Heartbreak about 16 hrs a day and Superman passed out for a little bit… I’m in hawaii but I’m still on NY time so I wake up mad early, do some business, blog, jog for an hour, play ball, eat and then hit the stu by noon. While approving the final cut for the Love Lockdown vid, I marvel at the fact that it was written less than 3 weeks ago. I’m very excited about the everything… I guarantee this will be 50’s favorite album of mine. This will be gangster’s album of the year.
Gangster and Kanye in the same sentence?? It doesn’t seem quite right, but you know this comment is going to spark a little fire from Bugsy and his trouble-making ass.
And It Continues…

50 Cent has yet to speak on his blazed up crib:
The investigation into the “highly suspicious” fire that gutted the Long Island home owned by 50 Cent – but occupied by his ex-girlfriend and their son – is lingering because the rapper has not been interviewed by investigators.A fire official said investigators have not been able to conclude the investigation partly because the hip-hop star, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has not met with the arson squad. The official said attempts have been made through Jackson’s attorneys to meet with him, but that he has not scheduled an interview.
“We interview every owner of every structure that goes on fire,” said the official. “It’s standard procedure.” Another source with information about the investigation said he was told Jackson’s unavailability is holding up the case, although the source did not know why Jackson has been unavailable.
He stays busy running his mouth any other time….Hmmmm

Bugsy and Camel top Forbes list of “Hip-Hop’s Cash Kings”:
It’s been some year for Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. In the past 12 months, the Brooklyn, N.Y.-born hip-hop demigod released a platinum album, signed a 10-year, $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation and tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Beyoncé Knowles. Quite a record. But only good enough for a silver medal. While Jay-Z topped Forbes.com’s inaugural Hip-Hop Cash Kings list of the top-earning people in the business last year, in 2008 he cedes the throne to Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who raked in $150 million over the past 12 months–almost twice what Jay-Z made.
