Jay-Z has reportedly launched a new label, adding to his long list of businesses. This one is called StarRoc and was formed with producers Stargate. According to overseas media, Stargate is a Norwegian duo consisting of Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen, both of which have produced for several superstar artists, specifically crafting Beyonce’s hit “Irreplaceable” and Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.” Reports indicate that the producer duo have relocated their studio to Jay-Z’s Manhattan-based Roc The Mic studios.

Jigga Man is apparently done with the fun and games. Its not as if he doesn’t have enough money already, but we love to see people make smart decisions with their dough, and put even more of a gap between them and regular folk. Gitcha paper, boo boo.

Washington Mutual became the largest bank to fail in the history of the United States last night. This sh*t has hit the fan. The government seized the bank and then sold it to JP Morgan Chase. Wamu had over 300 billion in assets before collapsing. Your stacks are insured up to 100K.

Mariah Carey is not pregnant:

Oprah Winfrey has denied reports that Mariah Carey canceled an appearance on her chat show where she was due to announce her alleged pregnancy. According to reports Mimi was booked for an appearance on the show to reveal that she is expecting her first child with husband Nick Cannon. The pair wed in April after a whirlwind romance and rumors have since been rife that the Hero singer is expecting. However, a representative from Oprah’s production company has stated that there are no plans to have Carey or Cannon on the show any time in the near future. A spokesperson for Mariah has also denied that the star is pregnant.

The day these two actually reproduce is going to quite entertaining though, just imagine what the kid will be like…

Terrence Howard is mourning the death of his mother:

“Terrence Howard’s mother, Anita Williams, has sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer,” the statement says. “Terrence will take some time to privately grieve with his family. He appreciates everyone’s support during this difficult time.”

That’s my favorite sports memory for myself.
